William Woods Women’s Golf Finishes Fourth At Lady Red Wolves Classic


The William Woods University women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the 2017 Lady Red Wolves Classic.

The Owls shot a three-round score of 86-over par 950 (325-312-313) over the classic. Arkansas State won the met with a score of 48-over par 912. Full team and individual results can be found by clicking here.

Leading the Owls was Katie Warren. The senior finished third in the event with a score of nine-over par 225 (76-74-75). She finished three shots behind the leader, Beth Ann Compton of Arkansas State. This is her fourth finish in the top five this season.

Senior Fumika Matsumoto came in tied for ninth at the event. She shot a score of 19-over par 235 (81-78-76). This is her fifth finish in the top 10 this season. Senior Megan Cullen followed Matsumoto with a tied for 12th place finish. Cullen shot 23-over par 239 (82-77-80) over the three rounds.

Rounding out the golfers for the Owls were Lucy Matthews and Mylie Holt. Matthews finished with a score of 39-over par 255 (90-83-82) for a 21st place finish. Holt shot 45-over par 261 (86-83-92) for a 23rd place finish.
