Mules Golf moves up to No. 8 in GCAA’s pre-NCAA Rankings


NORMAN, Okla. (May 6, 2016) — Coming off their win at the NCAA-II Central/Midwest Super Regional, the Mules Golf team moved up one spot to No. 8 in the Golf Coaches Association of America’s (GCAA) pre-NCAA Championships poll released on Friday.

The Mules tallied 200 points in the rankings to move up one spot to No. 8, they are two points behind seventh-ranked Nova Southeastern. Lynn garnered six of 11 first place votes and 270 points to take over the top spot in the poll. Chico State got the other five first place nods and totaled 262 points to fall from No. 1 to No. 2. Saint Leo, West Florida and Florida Southern round out the top five.

The Mules head to the NCAA Championships May 16-20 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club in Denver, Colorado. The first three days of the tournament will be stroke play, with the top eight teams after 54 holes advancing to the match play portion of the championships.
