Mules Golf finishes third at Northern Sun Fall Championship



BURNSVILLE, Minn. — The seventh-ranked Mules Golf team shot a final round 299 and finished at 23-over par and in third place at the Northern Sun Fall Championship at The Jewell Golf Club. The tournament serves as the first two rounds of the Northern Sun Conference Tournament with the final two rounds coming in the spring.

Alex Springer followed up his opening round 69 with an even par 71 on Tuesday to finish at two-under par the tournament and the individual champion. Teddy Jones shot rounds of 72 and 75 to finish at five-over par and in a tie for eighth place. Travis Mays shot a final round 76 to finish at six over par and tied for 13th.

Sean Weber shot a 77 and finished at 17-over par, 159, to tie for 42nd place, while Travis Simmons was one shot further back and tied for 46th.

Minnesota State-Mankato shot rounds of 286 and 297 to finish at 15-over par and in first place as a team.

The Mules are back in action next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 12 and 13, at the Missouri Western Invitational which is an MIAA point-scoring event.
