Men’s Golf In Fourth After Day One of Beu/Mussatto Invitational


The William Woods University men’s golf team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, return to action on Monday afternoon when they participated in the Beu/Mussatto Invitational hosted by Western Illinois University.

The Owls white team finished 16-over par 304 on the round to sit in fourth place after day one. The Owls white team is three-shots off the lead held by Indian Hills Community College. The Owls green team shot 31-over par 323 on the day. Full results can be seen by clicking here.

Leading the Owls white team was Will Rushworth and Tom North. Rushworth and North shot three-over par 75 and are tied at sixth place after the first round. They are four shots off the lead held by Julien Sale of Indian Hills CC, who shot one-under par.

Jack Clarkson and Tyler Fieser came in third and fourth for the Owls as they shot first round scores of five-over par 77. Clarkson and Fieser are tied for 21st after the first round.

Rounding out the WWU white team was Logan Smith. Smith shot a round of seven-over par 79 on the day and is tied for 31st place after the first round.

Leading the Owls green team was Philipp Heller. The freshman shot a first round score of six-over par 78. He is tied for 26th place.

Harvey Talarczyk and Scott Young find themselves tied for 41st place after the first round. Talarczyk and Young shot rounds of eight-over par 80 for the Owls Green Team.

Rounding out the Owls Green team was James Rogers and Mark Martin. Rogers shot nine-over par 81 in the first round and is tied for 52nd place. Martin shot 10-over par 82 and is tied for 60th place after the first round of action.

WWU returns to action tomorrow, Tuesday, April 17th with the final round of the Beu/Mussatto Invitational.
