
WWU Men’s Golf Team Leading AMC Championship
Cape Girardeau, Mo– The No. 3-ranked William Woods University men’s golf team is leading the American Midwest Conference (AMC) Championship by 11-strokes, after they scored a 17-over par 593 (296-297) on Monday.
Missouri Baptist University stands in second place, after shooting a 28-over par 604 (305-299), while Lindenwood University-Belleville, is in third, as they totaled a 40-over par 616 (306-310). Freed-Hardeman is in fourth at 54-over par, while Columbia College rounds out the top five, at 73-over par.
Native Englishman, David Houlding, is leading the AMC Championship by two strokes, after he shot a 1-over par 145 (72-73). Another sophomore, Billy McKenzie, is tied for third, as he shot a 4-over par 148 (70-78).
Senior and two-time champion, Julian Taylor, stands alone in fifth, after shooting a 5-over par 149 (77-72), while Matt Wells is the fourth Owl in the top 10, as he turned in his scorecard with a 9-over par 153 (79-74), for seventh place. Senior Stan Gautier, meanwhile, is tied for 19th, as he shot a 15-over par 159 (77-82).
The Owls will tee off tomorrow at 8.30 a.m with Missouri Baptist and Lindenwood-Belleville.
