
WOMEN’S GOLF SHOOTS 305 TO OPEN NCAA SUPER REGIONAL PLAY
The University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s golf team turned in a 305 on Monday as the Tritons played the first of three rounds at the NCAA East Super Regional.
UMSL sits in fourth place in the 12-team field, four strokes out of third place. The top three teams, along with the top three individuals not with an advancing team, will qualify to the 2018 NCAA DII Women’s Golf Championships May 16-19 at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
Grand Valley State turned in a 289 and is three strokes ahead of second place Indianapolis (292), while Northern Michigan shot a 301.
Individually, sophomore Emma Thorngren carded a 74 and sits in a tie for sixth place, five strokes off the lead.
The second 18 holes will be played tomorrow with UMSL teeing off between 8:30-9:10 a.m.
