Women’s Golf and Thorngren Both in Sixth Place After Day 1 of NCAA DII Championships


Paced by sophomore EmmaThorngren‘s one-under par 71, the University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s golf team turned in a day one score of 300 on Wednesday as play got underway at the NCAA DII Championships at the Bay Oaks Country Club.

Thorngren sits in a tie for sixth place, two strokes off the lead, while the Tritons are also in sixth place as a a team.

The second of four rounds begins tomorrow at 9:25 a.m. for UMSL, which will tee off on hole number 10.

The 12-team, 72-woman tournament consists of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. All participants will compete throughout the entire 72 holes of competition, which concludes on Saturday.
