Women’s Golf Adds SunTrust Gator Invitational to Schedule


Weather forced the Tigers to cancel play at the Julie Inkster 

Columbia, Mo. After inclement weather cancelled the Tigers’ flight to California for the Julie Inkster,  Feb. 23-24, Mizzou was able to add the SunTrust Gator Invitational to their schedule. The tournament will tee off March 6and continue through March 8. Hosted by the University of Florida, the tournament will be held at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. The Tigers will be joined on the Par 70, 6,701-yard course by 14 other teams.

The tournament field is composed of No. 10 Arizona, Clemson, Denver, FIU, Florida, Florida State, GRU, Kent State, Missouri, No. 23 NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tulane, No. 19 UCF and UTSA.

Tournament play begins with 18 holes on Friday, March 6. Tee times start at 9 a.m. with the Tigers teeing off beginning at 9:45 a.m. Tee times for round two will kick off at 9 a.m. on March 7, followed by the third round on March 8.

Currently, the Tigers are led by freshman Clara Young, who is coming off of a successful performance at Florida State. The North Berwick, Scotland, native earned a fifth place finish after a 2-under par final round performance. Fellow Scotland native, Jess Meek, also earned at op finish at the tournament as she took 11th overall.  The Tigers will look to continue that success this weekend.
