Volunteer for upcoming Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf

RIDGEDALE, Mo.– Tournament officials are calling on local residents to support their community by volunteering at the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge presented by the State of Missouri and MasterCard, a Champions Tour event that will be held April 22-26 in Ridgedale. Golf knowledge is not required and families and friends are encouraged to participate.

The tournament is searching for approximately 120 volunteers across the region to donate their time and energy to ensure a successful event. There are a number of different committees with a variety of responsibilities available including marshals, transportation, parking, scoring, caddie services, corporate hospitality, and more.  Training will be provided.

The Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge will bring some of golf’s most accomplished players together in a two-man team competition to be conducted over 54 holes on the Big Cedar Lodge’s Par-3 Top of the Rock course and the 18-hole Buffalo Ridge Springs Course (formally Branson Creek Golf Course). The tournament, which debuted in 1978, will celebrate its second year in Ridgedale and is the first PGA TOUR-sanctioned event to use a Par-3 course in official competition.

“We are looking for 120 genuine, kind, and hospitable volunteers to help us put our best foot forward. The effort put forth by volunteers will allow us to donate proceeds from the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf to our respective charitable partners, while at the same time providing a fun and exciting experience for each person involved,” said Kirk Elmquist, tournament director.

The volunteer fee is $75 and includes a golf shirt, headwear, poncho, a volunteer credential valid for week-long tournament access, meals during assigned shifts as well as a grounds ticket for Friday and Saturday to Buffalo Ridge. Volunteers may register online at bassprolegends.com.

Tickets to the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge are on sale now.  For more information, please visit bassprolegends.com.

About Big Cedar Lodge
Bass Pro Shops’ Big Cedar Lodge has offered guests rustic elegance in the heart of the Ozark Mountains since 1988. John and Jeanie Morris, inspired by their love of the area, created the popular vacation spot as a special place where conservation, preservation, and family traditions meld. The luxury resort—complete with nearby Dogwood Canyon Nature Park (http://www.dogwoodcanyon.org/) — has a full service marina, horseback riding, world-class fishing, and trails suited for walking, biking, and hiking. The resort also includes Johnny Morris’ Top of the Rock Ozarks Heritage Preserve. The property boasts a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course, an Arnold Palmer practice facility, a Tom Watson “Himalayan” putting course, and a signature restaurant and pro shop housed in a relocated 150-year-old barn from Arnold Palmer’s hometown. Top of the Rock is also home to the Lost Canyon Cave and Nature trail experience, the Ancient Ozarks Natural History Museum, world class restaurants that transport guests back to a time when American bison roamed the plains, an all-American inspired wine cellar, and a wedding chapel set on the hillside with spectacular sunset views of Table Rock Lake. Top of the Rock is Johnny Morris’ most passionate and inspiring venture to date. For more information, visithttp://www.big-cedar.com. Follow us on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/BigCedarLodge
