For the second straight week and the third time this season, University of Missouri-St. Louis junior Markus Lindberg has been named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week, as announced today by the league office.
Lindberg captured medalist honors at the Lindenwood Invitational with a 54-hole score of 211 (71-69-71), which ranks third on the program’s charts. It was his third individual win of the year, and the fourth of his career, both of which rank second in program history, on their respective charts.
Lindberg’s play helped UMSL to the team title with a score of 859 (290-286-283), which ties a 54-hole school record, set earlier this year. It was also the Tritons’ third team title this season.
UMSL will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule Monday and Tuesday at the Golfweek Invitational in Austin, Texas.
