University of Missouri-St. Louis junior Markus Lindberg of the men’s golf team has been named to the Division II PING All-America Honorable Mention Team, as announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
The GLVC Golfer of the Year, Lindberg earns All-America honors for the second straight season. Ranked 52nd by Golfstat, he led the Tritons with a 72.64 average, which ranks as the program’s best single-season mark. Lindberg had five top-10 finishes, including three first place showings. In the Tritons’ first tournament during the fall season, Lindberg became just the 10th collegiate player at any level to shoot a round of 60.
Lindberg will enter his senior season with a program-best career scoring average of 74.25 and as the co-career leader for rounds of par or better (29).
A total of 43 golfers earned All-America honors, including eight each to the first, second and third teams. Lindberg was one of three GLVC golfers selected and was joined on the honorable mention team with Bellarmine’s DJ Vogt and Indianapolis’ Graham McAree.
