UMSL Women’s Golf Places Fifth at Argonaut Invitational


Senior Stefaniya Ivanova and sophomore Emma Thorngren each shot a 230, tying for 13th place, at the Argonaut Invitational, hosted by West Florida on Mondayand Tuesday, to help the University of Missouri-St. Louis women’s golf team to a fifth place team finish.

Thorngren turned in rounds of 74, 77 and 79, while Ivanova posted rounds of 78, 71 and 81.

 As a team, UMSL shot 924 (306-306-312), the fifth-best 54-hole score in program history.

 Barry won the 13-team field event, posting an 893 (302-294-297), while the Bucs’ Tilda Larsson was the medalist (76-67-71 – 214). Of the 13 teams competing, seven are ranked in the top 26 of the Golfstat Rankings, including UMSL, which is 26th.

 UMSL will host its own Spring Invitational this Sunday and Monday.
