
UMSL Men’s Golf Ties for Third at DII Midwest Fall Regional
CHICAGO, ILL. – The University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team tied for third place in the 32-team field at the DII Midwest Fall Regional, held Monday and Tuesday at Harborside International, and hosted by Lewis.
The Tritons carded a 285 on Monday’s first round, but faced strong winds and rain in today’s final 18 and turned in a 323 to finish with a team score of 608.
Ferris State shot a 597 (284-313) to win the team title, finishing two strokes better than runner-up Northern Michigan. UMSL finished in a three-way tie for third place alongside Grand Valley State and McKendree.
The Tritons were led by senior Colby Yates (69-82) and sophomore Markus Lindberg (71-80), who each turned in a 151 to tie for 18th place.
Other scores included senior Anthony Cope (72-80 – 152; T23rd), junior Julien de Poyen (73-82 – 155; T46th) and sophomore Gordon Hundley (81-81 – 162; T110th).
Wisconsin-Parkside’s Kyle Kolberg earned medalist honors with his two-under par 142 (69-73).
UMSL is back on the course this Saturday and Sunday at the DePaul John Dallio Memorial in Lemont, Ill.
