KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Head coach Brianna Broderick and the UMKC women’s golf team announced its 2017-18 schedule today, headlined by the annual Kansas City Intercollegiate on April 9-10 in Raymore, Mo., at the Creekmoor Golf Club.
“We are excited to announce the 2017-2018 schedule, which I believe to be a little bit eclectic,” commented Broderick. “Our fall schedule will be highlighted with a trip to play in Seattle U’s event. This is a great event where our players will get to compete against some PAC-12 competition. Our spring schedule is highlighted with two trips to the desert as we prepare ourselves for post-season play at the WAC Championship, which is back in the desert for another year.”
The Roos open the fall campaign on Sept. 11-12 when they make a trip south to the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial at the Twin Oaks Country Club in Springfield, Mo., while heading to Columbia, Mo., for the Johnie Imes Invitational on Oct. 2-4 at The Club at Old Hawthorne.
Two week later, UMKC will venture out of Missouri for the first time when they take part in the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational hosted by WAC foe Seattle U at the Tacoma Golf & Country Club in Lakewood Wash., on Oct. 16-17, before closing out 2017 with a trip to the Pat Bradley Invitational on Oct. 22-24 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., at the Lakewood Ranch Country Club.
After a four-month layoff, UMKC returns to action on Feb. 23-25 when it makes a trip to the Rio Verde, Ariz., for the Rio Verde Collegiate Invitational at the Rio Verde Country Club.
On March 12-13, the Roos will continue their spring season with a visit to the Bradley Spring Break Invitational at the Brookhaven Country Club in Dallas, Texas, and on Mar. 27-29 when they head back to Arizona for the Portland State/Eastern Washington Invitational at the Ocotillo Golf Course in Chandler.
Following the Kansas City Intercollegiate, UMKC will look for its first ever WAC title and trip to the NCAA tournament when it takes part in the WAC Championship at the Legacy Golf Resort in Phoenix, Ariz., on Apr. 16-18.
