UMKC in 5th Following First Round at Chip-N-Club Invitational

UMKC women’s golf is in fifth place out of 11 teams following the opening round at the Chip-N-Club Invitational at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Course. The ’Roos shot 307 (+19) on Sunday, led by Maria Henao (Pereira, Colombia), who carded a 74 (+2) and is tied for fifth individually.
Chandler Gallagher (Kansas City, Mo.) shot 76 (+4) and is tied for 15th. Abbey Campbell (Garden City, Kan.) finished with a 78 (+6) while Cynthia Diaz (Bucaramanga, Colombia) is one shot behind with a 79 (+7). Cyrielle Kern (Cuvry, France) shot an 83 (+11).

Competing individually, Mackenzie Black (Independence, Iowa) carded a 77 (+5) and Victoria Origel (Irapuato, Mexico) shot 83 (+11).

Kansas State holds a 10-shot team lead after shooting a 292 (+4) total. Florida International is in second while South Dakota State is one shot behind them in third place.
Monday’s second round tee times begin at 9 a.m. CT.
