OLATHE, Kan. – The Jennies golf team climbed four spots after day one to finish in seventh place at the 19-team Central Region Fall Preview. UCM fired a team score of 319 in the second round to finish at 642 for the two-day event.
Jordan Rehkow shot a four-over par 76 and was the Jennies top scorer in 11th place with a two-day total of 153. She jumped two spots after her five-over par 77 round one yesterday.
Taelyn Entriken also finished in the top-20. She tied for 18th place after firing a second round 78 and total score of 157. Entriken moved up four spots after completing day one in 22nd place with a seven-over 79.
Kelly Welker (162), Maranda Smith (170) and Blake Betke (171) round out the top-five for the Jennies. Smith made the biggest jump from day one, she climbed 10 places after improving by six strokes in round two.
The Jennies finished 66 over par as a team. Augustana held on to win the tournament with a two-day score of 599 and were a combined 23 over par. Marla Souvannasing from Central Oklahoma and Emily Israelson of Augustana tied for the individual title shooting an even-par 144.
UCM is back on the links next week for the Northeastern State Women’s Golf Classic at Cherokee Springs Golf Course in Tahlequah, Okla., Sept. 14-15.
