Two Jennies earn All-MIAA Golf honors, Sobaski named Freshman of the Year

Central Missouri Jennies golf had two players named to the All-MIAA Women’s Golf as announced by the league office on Friday morning. Olivia Sobaski and Elizabeth Leath earned all-conference honors as voted on by the league’s coaches. In addition, Sobaski was named the MIAA Freshman of the Year.

Sobaski earned Second Team All-MIAA honors in addition to her Freshman of the Year award, while Leath was named to the Honorable Mention team.

Sobaski led the Jennies with a 77.96 stroke average over 11 events this season. She had six top five finishes this season, including the first ever individual tournament win in program history at the MIAA Fall Preview. She tied for first the previous week at the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bear Classic, but lost in a scorecard playoff. This is the first all-conference honor for the Sedalia, Mo. native and she becomes the first Jennie to win MIAA Freshman of the Year accolades.

Leath was second on the team with an 80.35 stroke average in 11 events. She had a pair of top 10 finishes this season and one top five finish, a fourth place finish at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite. This is the second All-MIAA award for the Chesterfield, Mo. native. She was a second team selection last season.

The Jennies will make their second straight NCAA Super Regional appearance next week, May 8-10, at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, S.D.
