
Tigers Close Play at SunTrust Gator Invite
Mizzou Takes 14th overall in the Tournament
Columbia, Mo. – Mizzou Women’s Golf took 14th overall at the 2015 SunTrust Gator Invitational on Sunday, following a 40-over par third round performance. The Tigers shot 315-309-320—944 through the tournament. No. 11 Arizona took home the tournament trophy, finishing 39-over par in total. Florida and Florida State rounded out the top three teams in the tournament.
Sophomore Jess Meek led the Tigers, she tied for 35th overall in the tournament. She finished with a third round total 7-over par to shoot 21-over par through three rounds. Redshirt junior Michelle Butler closed out tournament play just four strokes behind Meek as she shot 25-over par to tie for 46th overall.
Seniors Laura Kraft and Alina Rogers took 69th and 70th in the tournament, respectively, as the duo finished the tournament +31 and +33. Freshman Clara Young was not far behind as she tied for 72nd overall.
The 2015 SunTrust Gator Invitational was hosted by the University of Florida at the Mark Bostick Golf Course in Gainesville, Fla. The Tigers joined 14 other teams on the Par 70, 6,701-yard course.
The tournament field was composed of No. 10 Arizona, Clemson, Denver, FIU, Florida, Florida State, GRU, Kent State, Missouri, No. 23 NC State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tulane, No. 19 UCF and UTSA.
