
Three Named NAIA Ping All-Region on WWU Golf Team
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.—The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) has announced the NAIA PING All-Region teams and William Woods University’s own, Stan Gautier, David Houlding and Billy McKenzie, were named to the North squad.
Gautier, a Paris, France, native, is named to his first PING All-Region team, after having an average score of 73.75 in 24 rounds played on the year. Gautier, earned one win on the year, while finishing in the top-10 in four other tournaments. He totaled 67 birdies on the year, while totaling 10 rounds of par or less, which earned him American Midwest Conference (AMC) Newcomer of the Year honors.
Houlding, a Leeds, England, native, is named to his second PING All-Region team, as he is having yet another stellar season with the Owls, owning an average score of 71.83 in 24 rounds played. He won four tournaments on the season, including three of the first four during the fall year. Houlding was also named AMC Player of the Year.
McKenzie, picks up his second consecutive PING All-Region team award, after having an average score of 71.81 on the year, in 21 rounds of action. The Portsmouth, England, native, never finished outside the top-10 in nine tournaments, while collecting two victories on the year. For his impressive performance, McKenzie is one of five finalists for NAIA Player of the Year.
