Sylven Leads Men’s Golf at Findlay Fall Tournament
Freshman Joel Sylven turned in a 143 (74-69) to lead the University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team at the Findlay Fall Tournament. Originally scheduled for two days and 54 holes of competition, the final round on Tuesday was canceled due to inclement weather. Thus, Monday’s two rounds represent the final results.
Sylven, who tied for fourth place, recorded six birdies through his first 11 holes in the second round and sat at six under before finishing three strokes under par.
His played helped the Tritons to rounds of 295 and 288, giving UMSL a team score of 583 and a fourth place finish. Indianapolis led the 18-team field with a 574.
