St. Louis District Golf Association Greisedieck Men’s Amateur Championship

Phil Caravia continued his fine play this season with a 3 & 2 win over Andy Frost last Sunday in the 95th Griesedieck Men’s Amateur at Sunset CC. Caravia tied Brian Lovett at one-over-par for the qualifying medal and won his first three matches to set the stage for the Sunday afternoon final against Bellerive’s Frost.

Caravia was clinging to a 2 up lead when Frost’s wind-blown tee shot on the short 16th finished out of bounds and allowed Phil to close out the tight match. The match was back and forth all day and, as usual, putting told the story as Caravia was able to make a couple more than Andy on a hot and windy afternoon.
