A week after tying for first, but losing individual medalist honors in a scorecard playoff, freshman Olivia Sobaski won in a playoff at the MIAA Fall Preview at Mules National Golf Club to claim the first individual title in Jennies Golf history as UCM finished in third in the team race.

Sobaski shot a pair of 72s to finish at two-over par for the tournament. She tied with Shi Qing Ong of Missouri Western and went to a playoff. Sobaski parred the first playoff hole, the 18th hole island green, to win the title. She was one-over at the turn and parred every hole on the back nine to stay atop the leaderboard.

Her individual crown is the first ever for the Jennies in their fifth year as a program.

Elizabeth Leath followed up her opening round 77 with another 77 in Tuesday’s final round to finish at 12-over par for the tournament. She finished just outside the top 10 in a tie for 11th.

Jordan Rehkow shot a final round 82 to finish at 20-over par, 162, for the tournament. She was tied for 30th in the individual standings. Taelyn Entriken was four shots better than her opening round 84, finishing with an 80 and in a tie for 32nd at 22-over par for the tournament.

Kelly Welker shot an 89 in the final round and finished tied for 59th at 31-over par, 173.

UCM also had four individuals playing in the tournament. Madison Grisham led the contingent with 23rd place finish. She shot a final round 77 to finish at 17-over par, 159, for the tournament.

Maranda Smith shot a final round 78 and finished at 23-over par and tied for 38th. Alexa Boatman was four shots back from Smith in a tie for 52nd after a final round 86. Katie Scheffer shot a final round 87 and finished at 31-over par and tied for 59th along with Welker.

Lindenwood captured the team title with a 36-hole team score of 41-over par, 609.

The Jennies are back in action next Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 3-4 at the RCB/Central Oklahoma Classic at the Fairfax Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
