University of Missouri-St. Louis sophomore Maxi Roth and freshman Emma Thorngren have been named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-East Region Team.
Roth is second on the Tritons team with a 75.96 scoring average, which ranks second on the single season charts, and owns nine top-10 finishes, including six inside the top-five. She claimed medalist honors for the first time in her career at the Triton Invitational and was the top UMSL finisher at the NCAA East Super Regional, tying for sixth place with a school record 223. Roth ranks 93rd in the national Golfstat Rankings.
Thorngren owns a program single season best average of 75.26, having finished in the top 10 in all but two tournaments, and recording eight top-five finishes. She was medalist twice, winning the Oak Terrace Fall Invite and the Findlay-Beall Fall Classic. Thorngren ranks 47th in the national Golfstat Rankings.
The duo helped UMSL to a third place finish at the NCAA East Super Regional, thus earning a spot in the program’s first-ever DII National Championships later this week. They have also helped the squad equal a single season record with five team titles and a single season scoring average record of 304.
