The UMKC women’s golf team returns to action this week when it hosts the Kansas City Intercollegiate at the Creekmoor Golf Club (par-72; 6,069-yard) in Raymore, Mo., on Apr. 9-10.

Last Time Out
The UMKC women’s golf team finished the PSU/EWU Invitational in third place, just three shots out of second, at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Ariz.  As a team, the Roos finished at 913 (307-298-308) in the event.

Senior Chandler Gallagher led the squad in the three round tournament, carding a +6, 222 for the Roos.  Gallagher opened with a 74 that included a birdie on the par-3 16th, before adding a pair of birdies in her second round 73 on the par-4 10th and the par-5 18th.  The senior then closed out the event with a 75 in round three that featured birdies on the par-3 7th and the par-4 9th.

Cynthia Diaz was the next highest finisher for UMKC, tying for 11th at +10.  In the opening round, Diaz tallied birdies on No. 9 and the par-5 11th leading to a 75, while adding a 71 in round two that included three birdies on the par-4 3rd, par-3 12th and the par-4 15th.  In round three, the Colombian closed the event with a round of 80.

Up Next: The Blue & Gold will head to Phoenix, Ariz., on Apr. 16-18 for the WAC Championship at the Legacy Golf Resort.
