
ROOS CLOSE-OUT SEASON WITH 11TH PLACE RESULT AT NCAA REGIONAL
The UMKC men’s golf team wrapped-up its 2017-18 season with an 11th place finish at NCAA Regional in Norman, Okla., at the Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club, finishing at +17.
Paul Foulquie led the Roos, tying for 21st at even par. He opened up the event with a first round 71 that featured three birdies, all coming over a three-hole span from Nos. 5-8. Foulquie followed with his second straight 71, tallying birdies on the par-5’s of Nos. 13 and 18, carding just one bogey in the round. The Frenchman then closed out the tournament with a final round 74 that included a pair of birdies, on the par-4 1st and 11th.
Countryman Francois Lagraulet was the Roos next best finisher, tying for 26th at +1. Lagraulet opened with a four birdie first round, including back-to-back on Nos. 7 and 8, that led to a 73 and followed with a second round 75 that featured a pair of birdies. In the final round, Lagraulet carded the Roos lowest round of the event, a 69 that included six birdies, with four coming on the back nine.
At +2, McCain Schellhardt tied for 29th in his final event of the season. Schellhardt shot a 71 in round one, notching three birdies, including back-to-back on Nos. 4 and 5. Schellhardt followed with a second round 75 with birdies on Nos. 8 and 14, while his final round 72 included a bogey-free front nine with a pair of birdies and a third birdie on the back nine.
Jack Hermeston finished 72nd for the Roos, finishing with an opening round 86 and following up second round 76 that included a birdie on No. 18. In round three, meanwhile, he notched his second straight 76 with birdies on Nos. 8 and 16.
Matt Sieg tallied an opening round birdie on the par-4 3rd, leading to a 78 and followed with a 77 in round two with three birdies, all on the back nine.
Sam Humphreys, swapped in for Sieg in round three, carding a birdie on No. 10, his first hole of the tournament, and tallying a 77 in the round.
