Esterling-May Win Porto Cima Four Ball; Groom & Smith Win Senior Division in Playoff

Mizzou assistant golf coach Judd Easterling and Wichita State golf teammate Jonathan May won the storm-shortened Porto Cima Four Ball with a Saturday round of -7 65. They edged last year’s winners Chad Niezing and Chris Dale by a shot on the challenging Porto Cima layout.

Easterling was an All-American in 2003 and ’04 for Wichita State, where he played for former PGA Tour player Grier Jones, the WSU golf coach.

Kansas City senior standouts Steve Groom and Andy Smith won a three-way senior division playoff over the teams of Bob Trittler- Bob Meeh and Bill Roberts-David Cresap.

Groom, picking up where he left off in an outstanding 2014 senior season, chipped in on the 18th hole (1st playoff hole) for birdie as Trittler and Roberts missed makeable birdie putts on 18. All three teams finished the two days of play at eight under-par.
