Olivia Sobaski named MIAA Golfer of the Week

Central Missouri freshman golfer Olivia Sobaski was named the MIAA Player of the Week for the previous two weeks of competition. Sobaski claimed the first ever individual medalist honor in program history this week after finishing second by virtue of a scorecard playoff last week.

Sobaski shot a pair of 72s this week to finish at two-over par and tied for first at the MIAA Fall Preview at Mules National Golf Club in Warrensburg. She defeated Shi Qing Ong of Missouri Western on the first playoff hole to claim individual medalist honors and help the Jennies to a third place team finish. She is the first Jennies player to ever win a tournament as the program is now in its fifth year of existence.

Last week at the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bear Classic she tied for first, but finished in second by virtue of a scorecard playoff that had to go to a fifth tiebreaker before a winner was declared.

This is the first MIAA Golfer of the Week honor in the career of the Sedalia, Mo. native.

The Jennies are back in action next week, Oct. 3-4 at the RCB/Central Oklahoma Classic at Fairfax Golf Club in Edmond, Okla.
