Nurski Into the Quarterfinals at US Mid-Amateur

Brad Nurski continued his great play yesterday in winning his morning and afternoon matches to reach today’s quarterfinals at the US Mid-Amateur at Saucon Valley CC outside Philadelphia.

Nurski, from St. Joseph, MO, is matched against 2013 US Walker Cupper Todd White from Hilton Head, SC in today’s match. White survived a 20 hole marathon against fellow Walker Cup member Nathan Smith in his morning match and then won in the afternoon by 7 & 6. Nurski won 2 & 1 in the morning and beat Don Bell 4 & 3 yesterday afternoon to reach the quarters.

Nurski says he is “…driving it well–which is always important, but critical on this course.” Brad shared the medalist honors with Scott Harvey at one-under-par in the 36 hole qualifier and got the #2 seed in match play. Harvey, the #1 seed, is still among the eight players in the quarterfinals in the other half of the match play bracket.
