MUWomensGolf in Third Place Through 36 Holes at Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown


Mizzou Women’s Golf continued its solid play as the Tigers completed day two of the 2017 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown in Boulder City, Nevada. Mizzou now sits in third place through 36 holes action and are only one stroke behind second place San Jose State.

After tying the 18-hole individual program record on Sunday, junior Emma Allen had another strong day Monday, carding a 2-under 70. She is now 9-under through 36 holes. Allen has accumulated 12 birdies over the last two rounds and now sits in second place individually, just two strokes shy of the lead.

Senior Clara Young posted an even par round Monday and is tied for 10th place overall. Young is currently 4-under through 36 holes.

Sophomore Jessica Yuen iis currently tied for 18th with a two-day total of 2-under. Yuen began her second round with a solid first nine of 1-under. Sophomore Cherise Otter continued her consistent play during her first career start, carding another 73. She is tied for 36th individually after 36 holes of action.

Mizzou’s even par round as a team on Monday comes after the Tigers sat posted a team total of 275 in the opening round, which is the third-lowest 18-hole team round in program history.

Mizzou concludes the 2017 Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with the final 18 holes Tuesday beginning at 10 a.m. CT via shotgun start.
