
Mules Golf wraps up successful run with 14th place finish at NCAA Championships
Central Missouri shot a final round 303 in tough, windy conditions in Wednesday’s third and final round of stroke play at the NCAA Championships to finish in a tie for 14th place.
Alex Springer was the top placing Mule in a tie for 26th place at eight-over par for the tournament. The senior shot a six-over par 76 in his final round, carding six bogeys and 12 pars on the day. Brett Windsor shot a four-over par 74 on Wednesday to climb into a tie for 57th place at 15-over par. He recorded one birdie, 13 pars, three bogeys and a double.
Cole Dillon was tied for 66th at the championships at 17-over par after a final round score of six-over par 76. One birdie, 11 pars, five bogeys and a double bogey filled Dillon’s scorecard on Wednesday. Shayne Allan finished in a tie for 80th at 19-over par after seven bogeys gave him a seven-over par 77. Travis Simmons finished in a tie for 90th place at 21-over par after an 11-over par 81 in Wednesday’s up and down final round.
Chandler Blanchet of West Florida captured the individual national championship at one-under par. He was the only player to finish under par for the championships.
