
Mules Golf turns in another solid round at NCAA Regional
Shayne Allan fired his second straight round of five-under par 67. He is 10-under par for the tournament and in fourth place. He had eight birdies and three bogeys on the day. Alex Springer was one-under par on the day after a 71 and is in 12th place at six-under par.
Brett Windsor carded four birdies and 14 pars en route to a four-under par 68. He is five-under for the regional and tied for 13th place. Travis Simmons was four-over par on the day and fell back to a tie for 43rd at one-under par.
Cole Dillon carded two birdies, two bogeys, and 14 pars for an even par 72. He is tied for 75th at two-over par.
The Mules hold a six-shot lead over second place Lindenwood with eight teams still out on the course. Stefan Idstam of SW Oklahoma State and DJ Vogt of Bellarmine are currently tied atop the leaderboard at 12-under par, two shots ahead of Allan. Keenai Simpson of McKendree, who shot a course record 63 on Monday, was two-under par through nine holes and in third place at 11-under par at the time of this release.
The third and final round is set for Wednesday. The Mules will know their team time after the completion of Tuesday’s second round, which is expected to be completed in the early evening hours.
