Central Missouri Men’s Golf started the spring portion of their schedule this week at the Division II National Preview. The best teams and players in Division II descended upon Muscle Shoals, Ala. and the Fighting Joe’s Golf Club.
Through the first two rounds played on Monday, Central Missouri is tied for ninth at +28, 604. The Mules were 14-over par, 302 in both the first and second rounds of the day. However they fell five spots after being tied for fourth after 18 holes.
Sam Parrott is the Mules leader having shot a +5, 149. Parrott was just one-over-par 73 in round two, the best round of the day for the Mules. Individually, he is tied for 18th place.
Three of the Mules top four sit in the top-50 of the field. John Bonaobra is close behind Parrot after shooting +7, 151. He was the Mules leader after the first round with a +2, 74 and is tied for 25th place. Cole Dillon is one stroke behind Bonaobra at +8, 152 and is in a tie for 33rd place.
Shayne Allan is just outside the top-50. He shot a +5, 77 for both rounds for a two-round score of +10 154 and is tied for 51st. Matt Hoemann shot a +3, 75 in his opening round, but was a +8, 80 in round two. He has a two-round score of +11, 155.
Newberry College is the team leader with a +9, 585. They have an eight-stroke lead on second place Harding. St. Mary’s (Texas) Emilio Gonzales and Spencer Skiff of Newberry College share the individual lead at -1, 143.
The Mules will start the third and final round tomorrow morning with a shotgun start at 8:15 a.m. They will be paired with Queen’s University of Charlotte and North Alabama. Queen’s is currently tied for fourth place and North Alabama sits eighth.
