Mules Golf sits fifth after first day of NSU Golf Classic


MUSKOGEE, Okla. (Sept. 19, 2016) — Mules Golf fired rounds of 292 and 278 on Monday to sit at two-over par and in fifth place at the 18th Annual NSU Men’s Golf Classic at the Muskogee Country Club. Arkansas Tech leads the team race at 14-under par.

The Mules were eight over par in round one as a team, but followed it up with a six-under team score in round two to pull in to the top five.

Alex Springer followed up his one-over par 72 from round one with a four-under par 67 to sit in a tie for seventh place at three-under par. Cole Dillon is tied for 19th at one-over par after rounds of 72 and 71. Shayne Allan shot rounds of 75 and 69 to sit at two-over par and in a tie for 25th place. One of those players Allan is tied with is teammate John Bonaobra, who fired rounds of 73 and 71. Brett Windsor is tied for 63rd at eight-over par after firing back-to-back 75s.

Austin Smith of Arkansas Tech is the individual leader at nine-under par after firing rounds of 67 and 66.
