Mules Golf had three players named to the Division II PING All-Region Team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Tuesday morning. Shayne Allan, Cole Dillon, and Alex Springer were all-named to the squad.
Central Missouri had the most All-Central Region honorees with three and was one of just two schools in the region with multiple players named to the team.
Allan earned All-MIAA honors this season and is second on the team with a 73.2 stroke average over 11 events and 30 rounds played. He has five Top 10 finishes and three top fives. This is the first All-Region honor of his career.
Dillon was third on the team with a 73.8 stroke average, playing in all 11 events. He has four Top 10 finishes, three top-fives, and one individual championship at the Washburn Invitational. He was a two-time MIAA Golfer of the Week and earned All-MIAA honors this season. This is his first All-Region award as well.
Springer was the MIAA Player of the Year this season and led the Mules and the MIAA with a 71.4 stroke average. He has nine Top 10 finishes, five top-fives and captured the individual title at the Fort Hays State Tiger
Classic, where he fired a UCM and MIAA record-low round of 61, just one off the all-time NCAA scoring record. This is the second All-Region honor of Springer’s career.
All three are now eligible for PING All-America honors, which will be awarded after the completion of this week’s NCAA Championships.
