OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (March 22, 2016) — The Mules golf team was six shots better in round two to climb to sixth in the final standings at the UCO Broncho Invitational at Gaillardia Country Club on Tuesday afternoon. The Mules finished at +78, 654, in the extremely windy conditions.
Shayne Allen was once again the top scoring Mule on Tuesday. He fired a seven-over par 79 to finish at 12-over par for the tournament and tied for third place. He led the field with seven birdies over the two days. Teddy Jones shot a final round 85 and finished tied for 36th at 22-over par.
Travis Mays shot eight-over par 80 in the final round and was one shot back of Jones at +23 and tied for 43rd. Alex Springer finished tied for 51st with a 25-over 169 and Cole Dillon was one shot back of him in a tie for 54th. John Bonaobra played as an individual and finished tied for 65th at 29-over par.
Oklahoma Christian captured the team title by one stroke over Central Oklahoma with OC’s Zac Schaefer posting a seven-over par 151 to win individual medalist honors by four strokes.
The Mules are back in action next week at the St. Edward’s Invitational at Onion Creek Golf Course in Austin, Texas.
