Mules Golf finishes ninth at ultra-competitive Battle at the Shores


Mules Golf finished in ninth place at the always tough Battle at the Shores hosted by Barry University at Normandy Shores Golf Club. The tournament featured seven teams in the top 25 of Golfstat’s relative rankings.

The Mules finished at 38-over par as a team with a final score of 890. Barry won the team title with a seven-under par 845, 12 shots better than second place Nova Southeastern.

Shayne Allan was the top-finishing Mule in a tie for fifth place at one-over par. Alex Springer was tied for 27th at eight-over par. Three shots separated Kaden Macha (+16), Travis Simmons (+17) and Cole Dillon (+18) who finished in ties for 52nd, 54th and 59th, respectively.

Niclas Weiland of Barry captured the individual title with a 54-hole total of seven-under par.

The Mules are back in action April 18-19 at the Fort Hays State Tiger Classic at Smoky Hill Country Club in Hays, Kan. It is the final regular season MIAA points event before the MIAA Championship Tournament.
