MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (April 5, 2016) — Mules Golf fired a final round 293 to finish at seven-over par, 859, to finish fifth in the loaded field at the Barry Buccaneer Invitational. The field of 16 teams featured six teams ranked in the Golf Coaches Association Top 25 poll, including four teams ranked in the top 10 and four more teams that are receiving votes in the poll.
Alex Springer shot a final round one-over par 72 to finish at two-under par and tie for seventh place. Teddy Jones and Shayne Allan were three shots back of Springer at two-over par in a tie for 17th.
Cole Dillon was one-over par in the final round and finished nine-over par for the tournament, good enough for a tie for 61st place. Travis Mays was one shot back of Dillon at 10-over par after a final round 75. He finished in a tie for 65th.
Mateo Gomez of Lynn finished at five-under par to capture individual medalist honors and Nova Southeastern finished at six-under par as a team to capture the tournament championship.
The Mules are back in action next week, April 11-12, at the SBU Bearcat Invitational at Silo Ridge Golf Course in Bolivar. It is the third MIAA-sanctioned event of the season.
