WARRENSBURG, Mo. — Mules Golf coach Tim Poe has announced the signing of two student-athletes during the early signing period. Tanner Elder of Jefferson City, Missouri and Eric Pahls of Kansas City, Kansas will both join the program in the fall of 2016.

“We are proud to have signed Tanner and Eric,” said Coach Poe. “Both have strong proven records in both high school and junior tournaments at the state and national level. They will add tremendous talent to our 2016-17 roster and will make an impact right away to our young team.”

Elder was the 2015 Missouri High School State Champion and holds the MSHSAA record for all classes for lowest two-day finish on a par 72 course. He was the Missouri Golf Association Junior Amateur State Champion and MGA Junior Player of the Year. He finished second at the Annual Richard Poe Invitational and was tied for 62nd in a field of 212 professionals at the Pricecutter Web.com qualifier. He is a three time All-Conference, All-District and All-State honoree and finished as state runner-up in 2013, eighth in 2014 before capturing the title in 2015. He was on Team USA at the EuroCup in St. Andrews, Scotland, is a five-time Show-Me State Games medalist. He has over 40 first place finishes in Missouri Junior Amateur Golf Tournaments and over 70 top-three finishes. He has a high school GPS of 4.45 and is a National High School Honors Scholar.

Pahls is a two-time Kansas City Junior Champion and was the 2015 Kansas Amateur Qualifier medalist. He has competed in two Watson Challenges, Tom Watson’s tournament that only a select number of local amateurs are invited to, two Mid-America Cups, the top junior players from Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska. He was the 4A State Runner-up in 2015 and has won 11 tournaments during his high school career. He is a two-time Regional Champion and qualified for the National Optimist Tournament.
