MU Women’s Golf Finishes Eighth at Jim West Challenge

BOERNE, Texas – Mizzou Women’s Golf earned an eighth-place finish at the Jim West Challenge by shooting a 293 (+5) on Tuesday. All four qualifying scorers shot a 74 or lower in the final round. Junior Jessica Meek (Carnoustie, Scotland) finished with a collective 218 (+2) to tie for 16th individually while seniors Michelle Butler (Dunedin, Fla.) and Haelena Schwemmer (O’Fallon, Mo.) tied for 21st and 23rd, respectively.

Butler carded a third round 72 (E) while Meek shot a 74 (+4). Sophomore Clara Young (North Berwick, Scotland) finished with a 73 (+1) while Schwemmer and freshman Emma Allen(Southampton, England) closed the tournament with scores of 74.

Allen tied for 44th individually while Young tied for 53rd.

Kent State won the team title, finishing 12-under par. Gabby Barker of Texas Tech and Michaela Finn of Kent State tied for the individual championship by finishing 5-under.

Mizzou will close the fall 2015 schedule at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown from Oct. 25-27.
