Frankie Thomas of Chesterfield, MO birdied the first playoff hole to win the Missouri Golf Association’s Boys 14-18 championship on July 8 at Paradise Pointe GC in Smithville, MO. Thomas and Jack Litzelfelner III of Jackson finished in a tie at five-under-par 139 after the second round. Thomas birdied the 16th hole on day two to finish at 69-70-139 while Litzelfelner bogeyed the 17th to force the playoff.

Earlier in July Thomas shot an even par 144 at Old Hickory GC in regional qualifying that earned him the second spot from the St. Louis region into the US Junior Amateur to be held July 21-26 at The Club at Carlton Woods in Texas.
