Missouri Golf Post

The No. 18 ranked University of Missouri-St. Louis men’s golf team opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Arch Cup on Tuesday, hosted by the Tritons at Norwood Hills CC.

UMSL shot a field-best second round score of 283, rallying from a fourth-place first round score of 301. The Tritons finished two strokes behind team champion Lindenwood with a score of 584 in the 11-team field.

UMSL had two on the all-tournament team in seniors Markus Lindberg and Stephan Sorg.

Triton Tidbits
UMSL’s round of 283 equals the fifth best round in program history… Stephan Sorg‘s score of 144 was a career-best, as was his round of 70… Chris Ferris (69) and James Henderson (70) also had career-best rounds, while Ferris’ 146 was a career-best.
