Men’s Golf Signs Laithan Sublette
Columbia College head men’s golf coach John Utley has announced the signing of Laithan Sublette for the 2018-19 season. Laithan will be a freshman athletically when he arrives on campus in the fall.
Sublette, a 5-11 golfer out of Palmyra, Missouri, played his prep career at Palmyra High School where he was a two-time Missouri All-State selection, a four-time all-district selection, a four-time all-conference selection, and a three-time Missouri State High School Golf Championship qualifier. This past season, Laithan had a 73 stroke average per 18 holes of golf while medaling in both the district and sectional tournament. In addition, he led his team to a second place finish in the state tournament in his junior season and a third place finish in his senior season. Off the course, Laithan has been a member of the honor roll for all four years.
“Laithan is a great sign for our program.” Said Utley. “He is a hard worker and wants to get better. I am very excited he has chosen to be a Cougar.”
