Jennies Tied for First After Day One of Midwest Classic


Central Missouri Jennies Golf had a solid outing on the first day of their home tournament, the Midwest Classic, at Mules National Golf Course. The Jennies “A” team shot a round one 306 to sit at 22-over par and in a three-way tie for first.

Olivia Sobaski paced the Jennies on day one shooting a one-over par 72. She holds the overall individual lead going into day two. Elizabeth Leath is just two shots behind Sobaski at three-over par with a first round score of 74 and tied for fifth. Madison Grisham (+7) shot a 78 to tie for 22nd. Jordan Rehkow (+11) and Taelyn Entriken (+16) are tied for 41st and 73rd, respectively.

The “B” team for the Jennies is in 15th place with a day one score of 336 at 52-over par. Blake Betke led the way for the second group shooting a 10-over par 81 to tie for 36th. One shot behind her is Brianna Walker with a 11-over par 82. Emma Solovic (+15), Katie Scheffer (+16), and Maggie Kohl (+17) round out the second group for UCM. Solovic is tied for 69th, while Scheffer and Kohl are tied for 73rd and 80th, respectively.

UCM is tied with Augustana (SD) and Arkansas Tech for the team lead going into day two.

The second and final round of the Midwest Classic will pick up tomorrow morning with the first tee time at 8 a.m.
