Central Missouri women’s golf is making their third straight appearance at the NCAA Regional Championships. After the first round, the Jens are in ninth place out of the 12 team field.

UCM shot +27, 315 and are 14 strokes behind the leader.

The Jennies started out well, coming through nine holes just six-over-par with five birdies. All five Jennies hit exactly two birdies in round one.

Olivia Sobaski is the Jennies leader. She is tied for ninth place with a two-over-par 74. Sobaski shot par or better on 14 of her 18 holes.

Elizabeth Leath and Blake Betke each were an eight-over-par 80 and are tied for 36th place. Betke came through the front nine just one-over-par. She ran into trouble on holes 5-7 after shooting an even-par through 13 holes. Leath’s +5 on the front nine was second-best on the Jennies today. She was three-over par in her final three holes to jump from five-over to eight-over par.

Jordan Rehkow and Madison Grisham are each tied for 43rd place and one stroke behind Betke and Leath at +9, 81.

Arkansas Tech is the team leader at +13, 301. They have a one stroke lead over Augustana (S.D.). Elin Wahlin of Southwestern Oklahoma and Josefina Haupt of Lindenwood are the individual leaders at two-under-par 70.

The Jennies will tee off tomorrow at 9:50 on hole one. They are paired with a pair of MIAA teams in Missouri Western and Central Oklahoma.
