Jennies Golf sits in 12th after opening round of NCAA Super Region 3 Tournament

AXTELL, Neb. (May 2, 2016) — Jennies Golf shot an opening round 325 and sits at 37-over par and in 12th place at the NCAA Super Region 3 Tournament at Awarii Dunes. The top three teams after the 54-hole tournament will earn bids to the NCAA Championships.

Elizabeth Leath paced the Jennies with a six-over par 78. She sits in a tie for 34th place after the opening round of competition. Jordan Rehkow and Kelly Welker each finished the day at 10-over par, 82, and are tied for 50th. Maranda Smith was one shot back of those two with an 83, she sits in 58th. Taelyn Entriken is in 64th place after an opening round 87.

Central Oklahoma and Missouri Western are tied atop the team standings with identical 297s, nine-over par. Daniela Martinez of UCO is tied atop the individual leaderboard with Celine Lim of MWSU and Sierra Langlie of Augustana at one-under par.

The Jennies will get second round action underway at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning when they tee off on the back nine.
