Jennies Golf sits in 10th place after first round of UCO Classic


The Jennies Golf team fired an opening round team total of 331, 47-over par, on Monday and sits in 10th place at the Central Oklahoma/RCB Bank Classic at The Golf Club of Edmond.

The Jennies were led by Elizabeth Leath, who shot an opening round 79, eight-over par, and sits in a tie for 25th place individually. Jordan Rehkow was three shots back of Leath with an 82 and sits tied for 40th after day one.

Olivia Sobaski, the reigning MIAA Player of the Week, shot an opening round 85 as did teammate Madison Grisham and they sit tied for 58th place at 14-over par. Taelyn Entriken shot an 87 and is tied for 67th.

SW Oklahoma State sits at 14-over par with a team total of 298 to lead the team race. They are three shots ahead of Arkansas Tech. Gloria Choi of SWOSU sits atop the leaderboard at one-under par after an opening round 70.

The second and final round is set for Tuesday morning. The Jennies will tee off in a shotgun start at 9 a.m. starting on hole number 10.
