Jennies Golf finishes 13th at UNK Spring Invite
AXTELL, Neb. (March 27, 2016) — In cold, snowy conditions the Jennies shot a final round 313, 34 shots better than round one to finish with a 660 team score and a 13th place finish at the UNK Spring Invite.
The Jennies were led by Elizabeth Leath and Kelly Welker. Leath shot a final round 76, four-over par, and finished at 17-over for the tournament with a two-round total of 161. She was tied for 31st in the final individual standings. Welker was one shot back of Leath after a final round 77. She finished with a 162 and was tied for 35th.
Taelyn Entriken shot a final round 84, two shots better than her opening round, and finished 26-over par for the tournament and tied for 61st place. Maranda Smith shot a final round 76 and finished tied for 65th with a two-round total of 171. Jordan Rehkow finished with a 176 after a final round 85. She was tied for 74th in the final standings.
Northeastern State won the team title with a two-round total of 607 and the RiverHawks’ Baylee Price captured individual medalist honors with a one-over par 145. She shot a two-under par 70 in the final round.
The Jennies are back in action next weekend, April 2-3, at the Upper Iowa Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa.
