
Jennies Golf finish 10th in Northeastern State Classic
TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — The Jennies Golf team was nine shots better in the second round of the Northeastern State Classic, shooting a 326 to move up four spots and finish in 10th place out of 18 teams in the 36-hole tournament. The Jennies finished with a team total of 661.
Taelyn Entriken was the top finishing Jennie with a two-round total of 14-over par, 158. Maranda Smith fired a second round 80 to finish at 18-over par and in a tie for 33rd place. Jordan Rehkow was six shots better in round two with an 82 to finish in a tie for 57th place with a 170. Blake Betke shot a 174 and finished in a tie for 69th place, while Kelly Welkershot a final round 85 to finish at 178 and in 78th place.
Oklahoma Christian shot rounds of 301 and 314 to finish at 39-over par and win the team championship. Rogers State was two shots back in second with Northeastern State four shots out of the top spot in third. Baylee Price of Northeastern State and Audrey Meisch of Oklahoma Christian both finished at four-over par and in a tie for individual medalist honors.
The Jennies return to the links in two weeks, Sept. 27-29, at the Lincoln Invitational at the Jefferson City Country Club.
