
Jennies Golf earns seventh place finish at season-opening Central Region Preview
OLATHE, Kan. (Sept. 7, 2016) — Jennies Golf shot a final round 323, three shots better than the opening round, to finish at 73-over par as a team and in seventh place at the Central Region Fall Preview at Prairie Highlands Golf Club.
The Jennies were paced in the final round by freshman Olivia Sobaski, who shot a six-over par 78. She finished the tournament at 15-over par and tied for 20th. The highest placing Jennie was Elizabeth Leath, who followed up her opening round 77 with an eight-over par 80 to finish at 13-over par and tied for 13th individually.
Jordan Rehkow shot a final round 80 and finished at 21-over par and tied for 40th. Maranda Smith was 24-over par after a final round 85, she finished tied for 46th. Taelyn Entriken shot an 86 in Wednesday’s final round tied for 69th place at 31-over par.
Central Oklahoma captured the team championship after rounds of 304 and 307 to finish at 35-over par. Shi Qing Ong of Missouri Western was the individual champion, finishing at five-over par after a final round 73.
The Jennies are back in action Sept. 19-20 at the Golden Bear Fall Classic at Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul, Minn.
