Jennies Golf earns runner-up finish at Bearcat Fall Classic

Central Missouri Jennies Golf shot a final round team score of 316 to finish at 50-over par and in second place at the Bearcat Fall Classic at Mozingo Lake Golf Club on Tuesday. The Jennies finished 19 shots back of team champion Augustana and 11 shots ahead of third place Missouri Western.

Olivia Sobaski shot a final round 79, seven-over par, to finish at eight-over par for the tournament and tied for fifth. Elizabeth Leath was three shots back of Sobaski and in ninth place after a final round 76 to help lead the Jennies. Taelyn Entriken shot a final round 77, five-over par, and finished at 13-over for the tournament, tied for 11th place.

Kelly Welker shot an 84 in Tuesday’s final round and finished at plus-18 and tied for 21st, while Jordan Rehkow finished in a tie for 37th at 24-over par after an 86.

The second Central Missouri team finished tied for eighth as a group. Blake Betke led the way at 15-over par and a tied for 17th finish. She shot a final round 79. Maranda Smith was tied for 21st with Welker after a final round 80.

Katie Scheffer shot a final round 89 to finish at plus-30 for the tournament and in 49th place, while Alexa Boatman (+31) and Madison Grisham (+36) finished tied for 50th and 60th, respectively, after final round scores of 83 and 88.

This tournament concludes the fall portion of the Jennies’ 2016-17 schedule. They return to action with their first spring tournament on March 7-8 at the SW Minnesota State Invite being held in Litchfield, Ariz.
